With a name like “Confessions of a Serial Killer”, you know this is not going to delicate indie offering. This is heavy. This is Aggressive. This is Audio Violence.
“White Noise” immediately hits your speakers with a level of aggression and intent that simply cannot be ignored. The band slams straight into the track before you have time to get your bearings. It is an immediate, all out, in your face barrage. The dual vocals of guttural and melodic give Confessions of a Serial Killer a truly unique sound. The song has a grinding drive that makes you have to nod in time. The vocal line carries the song on as the music twists and turns. Live this track must kill (pun intended)
Next up is “Watch it Burn”. The intro riff blasts out then drops into an incredible, slicing guitar line. The dual vocal again adds such a different level to the song. The grinding guitar and pounding bass/drum combo force the song along. The verse is incredible and shows a far more melodic side to the band compared to others in the genre. The ominous keyboards also add a texture to the band’s sound. These guys are really onto something here. Metal for 2024.
Finally, we have “Role Models” that crashes into life like Lizzo river dancing on a 3 legged table. There is such a groove to Confessions of a Serial Killer that you can’t help enjoy the ride and immediately start to like them. There is more of a 90’s Nu-Metal feel to this song but not in a bad way, just as a solid influence brought into the bands unique style. The guitar is barb wire sharp and cuts through the track to perfection
