Hometown – “Get Out the Cold”

Bolton’s own Hometown are living proof that age doesn’t define maturity when it comes to songwriting. Still in their early days, this young band are already turning heads across their local scene — and their debut single “Get Out the Cold” shows exactly why.

It’s a mature slice of northern indie noise in the most beautiful way. From the opening bars, the track bursts with confidence — punchy, tight and brimming with energy. The chorus doesn’t just hook you; it smacks you right in the face, demanding attention and replay after replay.

There’s a real sense of lineage here — echoes of Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes, wrapped in the same spirit of rebellion that Nirvana made famous. The drumming is sharp and purposeful, the bass drives everything forward and the guitar work dances between gritty rhythm and flashy fret wizardry. And that solo? Utterly brilliant — it cuts through with swagger and precision. Its all topped of perfectly with a swaggering northern vocal.

For a debut, this is seriously impressive. Hometown might still be local heroes for now, but with songs like this, it won’t be long before every town feels like their hometown.
