Review: Low Wave

This one’s an easy choice for Band Assist Single of the Week – proof that Low Wave don’t just make noise, they make it count.

Next up is the new single from Low Wave called Hard to Believe, and from the moment it hits, you know you’re in for something special. The track crashes into existence like 3 Colours Red colliding head-on with Sonic Youth, all jagged edges and intent, before settling into a low, grinding verse that feels heavy without ever becoming blunt. The vocal guides the song beautifully here, adding passion and shape, lifting it rather than simply fighting the noise around it.

That sense of contrast is where Low Wave really shine. The chorus doesn’t rely on sheer volume to make its impact; instead, it builds depth through layered vocals and carefully placed dynamics, giving the track a far more powerful and emotional punch. It’s modern, grunge-infused and driving, but the soaring vocal delivery and the inclusion of a more traditional, melodic guitar solo push this into genuinely unique territory.

The post-chorus guitar stabs are absolutely savage and must hit like a freight train in a live setting, even through office speakers they feel brutal and immediate. And just as you’re fully locked in, the song cuts off abruptly – not jarring, but perfectly judged – almost daring you not to hit repeat.

Hard to Believe is raw, intelligent, and brilliantly executed. It’s heavy without being lazy, emotional without being indulgent, and instantly memorable. This one’s an easy choice for Band Assist Single of the Week – proof that Low Wave don’t just make noise, they make it count. Hard to believe how good this is… but believe it.
