An upbeat, offbeat punk triumph

Having been pumping out punk infused rock since 2007, Manic Romance know a thing or two about writing catchy tunes that burrow into your head.
Take new single “Manic Romance”, their new single for example. The stuttering, off-beat intro is almost hypnotic before the honey-coated vocal powers in and drips into your ear. The song stomps rather than bounces along with vocal harmonies that any modern pop starlet would be jealous of. This is a real melting pot of Oasis, 90’s Indie, power punk and something else to become something truly unique. I’ll be honest, this track has been played quite a few times in the Band Assist office this week, we can’t get enough of it. If you have to choose only one track to listen to list week make it Keep it Real by Manic Romance.
Next up we get an uplifting bite of harmonious punk in “Can’s Help But Be Me”. The lyrics deal with a subject we can all relate to (It’s often how I feel when I wake up on a Saturday morning). This track adds a new layer to the bands sound and bring to mind 70’s punk like the Ramones or The Clash. Once again the excellent vocal harmonies add a sweet depth to the song. This one is definitely on our summer playlist.
Finally we have are left with the slightly tongue in cheek, “Me, You and Blink 182” – it may only last 32 seconds but I bet you’re humming along for a lot longer than the song actually lasts!
