Up next we have two new singles from Methodemic, heavy metal powerhouses hailing from Birmingham. What makes this even more interesting is that the band have been on hiatus for the past eight years – but judging by these tracks, they haven’t lost a single ounce of fire. In fact, they sound sharper, heavier and more focused than ever.

First up is the brilliantly titled Heavy Metal Heroin, and it absolutely lives up to its name. The track explodes out of the speakers with a powerful, driving riff, immediately backed up by slick and confident lead work. There’s a clear nod to the 80s golden era of metal, but this is no nostalgia act. The soaring vocal delivery and razor-edged guitar tone plant this firmly in 2026. The chorus is built for singalongs, while the blistering lead guitar adds real bite and excitement. It’s a reminder of when metal had swagger, attitude and, most importantly, fun. The song constantly evolves, with standout moments like the middle 8 breakdown that feels tailor-made for a mainstage crowd. Fast, catchy and packed with ideas, it’s one of those tracks where you just have to strap in and enjoy the ride.

Next up is Winner Takes All, which wastes no time crashing in through a wall of feedback before launching into a power metal riff that would make even the greats take notice. There’s a darker, heavier edge to this track, but it still carries that unmistakable Methodemic identity. What really stands out here is the groove – something so many bands strive for but rarely achieve. You can feel the interplay between the instruments, the push and pull of the rhythm, and it’s impossible not to nod along. The vocal performance is packed with passion and intensity, giving the track a real sense of authenticity. It builds steadily, swaggers with confidence, and then drives towards a powerful crescendo before dropping out, leaving you reaching straight for repeat.

These two singles show a band not just returning, but arriving with serious intent. Methodemic haven’t simply picked up where they left off – they’ve come back stronger, louder and more determined than ever. If this is the start of their next chapter, then the scene better be ready… because Methodemic aren’t just back in the game, they’re here to take it all.
