Reillo – “Push On Through”

Liverpool’s Reillo (pronounced Ray-low) are four seasoned musicians from the Widnes / Liverpool / Warrington area who have fused decades of experience into something truly electric. Describing themselves as a blues-rock powerhouse with shades of Dire Straits, Tom Petty, The Travelling Wilburys and Bob Dylan. And boy do they hit the spot

Their latest single, “Push On Through,” is the sound of a band hitting their stride. It crashes through the speakers with swagger and precision - a funk-driven guitar lick kicks things off before the rhythm section locks in tight, propelling the song forward with energy and purpose. It’s blues-rock with bite, modern but grounded in classic roots.

The verses make clever use of stops, adding tension and space before the chorus bursts in with real punch - the kind that makes you imagine the crowd moving as one. The groove is infectious and the band clearly know how to craft dynamics that hit hard. The vocal performance is gritty yet soulful, adding a raw edge to their polished musicianship.

Then comes the solo *- tasteful, expressive and perfectly judged. It doesn’t overplay; it breathes, letting the tone and phrasing do the talking. There’s a blues overdrive to it that feels both timeless and fresh. The middle eight slows things down, showing off Reillo’s compositional control - they build tension gradually before launching into a chaotic, high-energy outro that ties everything together.

“Push On Through” is head-noddingly good rock, built on experience, heart and sheer groove. Reillo sound like a band that live and breathe their music - and if this track is any indication, their upcoming album The Loner is going to be something special.
