Vampire Valentine return with Thorns, and from the very first second you know you’re stepping back into their shadowy, neon-lit world. Dread-filled keys hum beneath a piercing, rising beat, while an eerie backing vocal beckons you forward like some gothic siren. Then- bang! - the track explodes into life with a dark, 80s-infused pop rhythm that lodges itself in your bloodstream almost instantly.
The trademark vocal glides over the chaos with icy calm, delivering that perfect contrast Vampire Valentine have truly made their signature. The keyboards weave in and out, sometimes uplifting, sometimes unsettling, always adding tension and dimension. It’s a beautifully arranged push-and-pull between light and dark, serenity and storm.
As the track rolls toward its finale, the outro becomes this gorgeously controlled chaos-falling apart in slow motion, collapsing elegantly back into the mist from which it came. It’s a full journey in just a few minutes, and it proves once again that Vampire Valentine don’t just write songs… they conjure atmospheres.
Vampire Valentine have once again shown just how effortlessly they can blend beauty with darkness-Thorns is a stunning reminder that this band doesn’t just bloom… they flourish in the shadows.
