Next, we have some new tracks from epic rock outfit, “Visions of Morpheus”. A driving and uplifting outfit that is the creation of Jeff Pearson
Their latest single, “Ghost”, slowly builds and creeps up on you. The build is added to by some chugging, driving distorted guitar that adds a darker side to the track. The soaring grand vocal line carries the song beautifully. There are lots of ideas going on within “Ghost” but they all serve a greater purpose to build a truly epic musical landscape. It is a credit to the band that this 6=plus minute song flies by due to the variety of intertwined sounds and ideas – including not just 1 but 2 uplifting guitar solos.
Up next is “Though Fire and Flames” which takes a more grandiose stance. The track burst into life with grinding guitars, pounding bass and rock-steady drums. The vocal and melody line ensures this has a far more modern feel, as often efforts in the genre can seem a little dated. This is definitely not the case. The track is equal measures of epic, metal and harmonies to die for. Once again the guitar blasts through making this a truly vital piece of music. There is a far more driven nature to this track and definitely one we would recommend to begin your Visions of Morpheus journey – accessible and epic.
Visions of Morpheus take you on a journey. Their music has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster but is always in keeping with the song.
